Bertagna Family is deeply rooted in agriculture, a heritage that traces back over four generations. Nestled in the beautiful Chico, California, we have perfected the crafting of exquisite, both traditional and innovative, Italian wines.

It all began in 2001 when Berton and Carol planted their vineyard right in their front yard, alongside their two young sons. From crafting wines initially for close family and friends, whose encouragement spurred us on, we decided to share our creations with the wider community. By 2007, we realized this dream by opening our first winery.

Our winemaking journey is ever-growing, leading us to recently inaugurate a brand-new tasting room. We welcome you to join us at Almendra Winery & Distillery, where you can relish our wines with your loved ones.
