About Us
A charming secluded stone house with a large deck overlooking a spring fed lake in the Big Springs Region of the Missouri Ozarks. An area designated by the Nature Conservancy as one of "The Last Great Places." Beaver Lake Guest House is located on a family farm along Sinking Creek about 25 miles south of Salem, MO and 19 miles north of Eminence, MO where you can hike, fish and tour our unique Ozark Forest Mushrooms business. It is a completely furnished house nestled in a pine grove on a 3,00 acre family preserve along Sinking Creek in Shannon County. Timber Farms, The Sinks is a working farm which includes a Shiitake Mushroom Log Operation (across the creek from the house) along with a permaculture vegetable garden and pasture/hay operation. Tours of the Mushroom Farm can be arranged with prior notice. The farm name comes from a geological formation on the property where the creek takes a short cut through a 400 foot limestone cave forming a natural bridge, locally known as The Sinks. Walk around the lake, bamboo forest and swim in the creek. Sit by the fire or BBQ under the stars. From the deck you can relax and watch humming birds, herons, beavers, muskrats, ducks and bald eagles in the winter. The farm has many wonderful hikes through all the fields, forests, and creeks. This is the place for you if you are seeking seclusion, peace and tranquility yet within close proximity to the Current River Ozark Scenic Rivers Canoe Rentals.
