In the stunning Santa Cruz Mountains, situated above the celebrated Silicon Valley, our AVA (American Viticultural Area) offers an unparalleled winegrowing experience. This unique region is characterized by its high-altitude vineyards, intersected by coastal mountains, and the influence of the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay. The area, recognized since the 1870s as a top-tier growing region in California, is the first in the state to have its rugged borders defined by elevation, geology, and biology.

Our community includes over 80 wineries and 200 growers, crafting wines shaped by the ocean's cooling influence at elevations ranging from 400 feet to over 3,000 feet. Our vineyards yield elegant wines such as pinot noir, chardonnay, and cabernet sauvignon, known for their distinct aromas and flavor profiles derived from variable soils and the beneficial marine effect.

The Santa Cruz Mountains stretch across nearly half a million acres, offering visitors an expansive exploration opportunity whether for a day, or spread across multiple visits. Conveniently positioned just minutes from San Jose and an hour from San Francisco, the region is easily navigable by car.
